Of course I published a ‘woe is me, I suck at running’ blog post, only to turn around a few minutes later and have a pretty amazing run. I’m still dealing with a lot of self-doubt about this whole running ‘thing’ right now and part of it is my weird form of perfectionism.

I’m not usually an ‘all or nothing’ person. With most things I’m all ‘eh, good enough – call it done!’ but with training for running events, I’m all ‘I missed/botched a workout, what’s the point of continuing on?’ Seriously y’all I’ve missed 2 long runs in a row. 2. That’s not good. Missing 1? Sure, because life happens. But 2? No.

I’m not sure how the rest of training is going to go, but I know I’m in complete control of when and how much I train and my attitude. It’s up to me to make this the best experience possible. Of course, this is how I feel right now…it could all change tomorrow.
