Thursday randomness

I said I was going to write every day…so here I am. I don’t really have anything blog-worthy to share, but I’m still writing and posting to get into the habit of simply writing. So, here’s how my day went down.

I woke up this morning to two cats hogging my bed. I swear, for creatures that collectively weigh less than 20 pounds, they sure do take up a boatload of space. I didn’t have the heart to kick them out last night, even though I never sleep as well when they are with me. Also, sometimes I miss the kitten stage, but I’m happy they can go more than an hour without being all ‘ERMERGERD!!! RUN AND JUMP ON ALL THE THINGS!!!’ at 4:00 a.m. They are actually pretty content until sunrise when they demand to be bed (sorry, boys. You will be fed when I get up at 7:00. You won’t starve – I promise!)

I somehow left my house 10 minutes late this morning which made for a bit of a stressful commute. I know I should get everything together at night (lunch, lay out clothes, etc.) and while I do some prep for the next day, I get burnt out and figure I can finish in the morning. I’m not sure what is so damn difficult and taxing about laying out a few articles of clothing and packing everything in the car, but here I am. I’m sure I’ll repeat the same cycle tonight.

I took a picture of my breakfast, but it’s too sad to share here. I mean, the food was good, but my photography isn’t (as evidenced by the few pictures I actually post on the blog.) Plus, I’m not sure there is any possible way to make chicken, rice and green beans look appealing and pintrest-worthy. Anyway, I’m really trying to clean up my diet a bit and while no food is off limits, I find I’m much less likely to be all ‘DOUGHNUTS AND COOKIES!!! ME WANT!!!!’ if I’ve had something healthy and filling for breakfast.

Hmmm…what else? I ran at lunch today and it was rough. I’m getting over a cold (and possibly a mild sinus infection) so I had a hard time breathing during my run. I tried not to put too much pressure on myself and I took walk breaks when I needed to, but it felt more like 10 miles instead of the 2.5 I actually ran. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea, but I’m glad I did it and got it out of the way. Now I can relax this evening (What? You thought I was going to say that I would have time to lay out my clothes for tomorrow?)

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. I’m ready to rest and relax after a hectic holiday weekend last weekend. I don’t really have plans so far, other than a massage Saturday night. Sometimes I feel guilty spending money on massages, but I love them and I feel like they help so much mentally and physically. The place I go to is quite reasonable as far as prices go. Some people treat themselves to manicures/pedicures/facials on a regular basis…I prefer massages. Plus, my feet are totally mangled from running, so I’d prefer not letting other people touch/see them. I also had a really bad pedicure experience a few years ago and am hesitant to go again. Sometimes I miss them, but I figure slapping on OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark looks just as good for a fraction of the cost.

That’s all for now…peace out, peeps!
